Use the Kitchen Display

The Kitchen Display (KDS) turns a tablet or screen into a live order board for your team.

Open it

1. 1At the bottom of the left sidebar, find the Portal / Kitchen Display switch.
2. 2Flip it to Kitchen Display. The screen becomes a full-screen board.
3. 3Flip it back to return to the portal.

Read the board

• Three columns: New, Preparing and Ready.
• Each card shows the order's items with every customization on its own line.
• Cards change color with urgency. A scheduled order turns amber, then red, as its promised time approaches. An ASAP order does the same the longer it sits without being started.
• A Next up banner at the top spotlights the one most urgent order that still needs starting.

Work an order

1. 1Tap the card's bump button when you start it. It moves to Preparing.
2. 2Bump it again when it's ready. It moves to Ready.
3. 3Bump it once more when it's handed over.

Set it up as an always-on screen

• A chime plays on every new order. Use the mute button if it's too loud.
• A live clock is always visible.
• Use the fullscreen toggle, and the screen tries to stay awake so it doesn't sleep mid-shift.
• Keep the tablet plugged in and on reliable Wi-Fi.
