How delivery works

Updated October 2, 2026

Delivery through Awwranges uses Uber Direct, so you don't need your own drivers. The delivery fee customers see at checkout comes from Uber's live quote for their address.

What you need

Both Square (so delivery orders can be paid online) and Uber Direct must be connected. See Connect Square and Connect Uber Direct.

The customer's side

  1. The customer chooses Delivery at checkout and enters their address.
  2. They get a real delivery quote and fee.
  3. They pay online. Delivery can't be paid at the counter.
  4. They follow courier progress on their tracking page.

Your side

  1. The order arrives like any other, on the Orders page and Kitchen Display.
  2. A courier is dispatched automatically when the order is placed.
  3. Prepare the order and bump it to Ready for courier.
  4. The courier collects it and delivers it.
  5. Follow progress on the order. See Track and cancel a delivery.

Delivery fees and tax

The delivery fee comes from Uber's quote. Tax is charged on the food, never on the delivery fee. Delivery uses a longer minimum lead time than pickup. See How scheduled orders and lead times work.

If dispatch fails

If a courier can't be dispatched after the customer has paid, the order is refunded automatically and marked cancelled. There's nothing for you to do.

Tip: Place a small test delivery in Sandbox before going live. See Connect Uber Direct.
