Connect Uber Direct

Updated October 2, 2026

Uber Direct provides on-demand couriers. Once connected, customers can choose Delivery at checkout and a courier is dispatched automatically.

Before you start

  • You need an Uber Direct account. Get your Client ID, Client secret and Customer ID from the Uber Direct dashboard.
  • Square must also be connected, because delivery orders are paid online. See Connect Square.

Connect

  1. Open Integrations and find the Uber Direct card.
  2. Click Connect.
  3. Enter your Client ID, Client secret and Customer ID.
  4. Choose the Environment: Sandbox to test with no real couriers, or Production for live deliveries.
  5. Save. You'll see "Uber Direct connected".

Set your pickup address

Couriers need to know where to collect orders.

  1. On the Uber Direct card, click Set pickup address.
  2. Enter the street, any suite or unit, city, state and ZIP as separate fields.
  3. Save. The card shows the pickup address as Set.

Set up the webhook

The webhook is how Uber tells us a courier was assigned or an order was delivered, so statuses update.

  1. In the Uber Direct dashboard, go to Developer, then Webhooks, and create a webhook.
  2. Use the Webhook URL shown in the portal. There's a copy button.
  3. Subscribe it to both Delivery Status and Courier Update events.
  4. Uber generates a signing key. Back in the portal, open the webhook dialog and paste it in.
  5. Save. The webhook shows as Configured.

Go live

Test in Sandbox first. When you're ready, reconnect with your production credentials and set the Environment to Production. Test with one real, small delivery.

Disconnect

Click Disconnect on the card. Customers will no longer get live courier quotes.

Warning: In Production mode, orders dispatch real couriers and cost real money. Switch to Production only when you're ready.
