Set up item customizations

Updated October 2, 2026

Customizations let customers tailor an item, such as choosing a milk or adding a shot. Each choice can change the price.

Add a customization group

  1. Open Menu and edit the item.
  2. In Add-ons, add a group and give it a Group name, for example Milk or Extras.
  3. Set Select any. This is how many options the customer must or can choose in this group.
  4. Add each option. For an option that costs extra, enter a Price delta. Leave it at zero for no change.
  5. Save, then Publish.

How groups behave

  • A group where the customer picks exactly one option works well for something like Milk: Whole, Oat, Almond.
  • A group that allows several picks works well for Extras, where a customer might add a shot and a syrup.
  • The price difference of every chosen option is added to the item's price automatically at checkout.

What your team sees

Each choice a customer makes appears as its own line under the item. You'll see them on the Orders list, in the order's detail sheet, on every Kitchen Display card and on printed receipts, so nothing is crammed into the item name.

Tip: Keep group names short and obvious. Customers see them on a phone, where space is tight.
